FINE WINE REGIONS AND INVESTMENT GRADE WINE
The fine wine market today is global in terms of demand, but the supply of investment-grade wine represents less than one percent of the world’s production and is concentrated to a few key areas. Bordeaux is still the most prolific region, but the market has broadened since 2010 to include the wines of the most outstanding producers of Burgundy, Champagne, Rhone, Italy, Spain, California and Australia. These wines offer serious value and the opportunity to diversify and strengthen your fine wine portfolio.
The predominance of market trade and value of investment- grade wines on Liv-ex has traditionally been in the wines of the top 30 Bordeaux chateaux. Of those the First and Second growth wines recorded in The Official Classification of Medoc and Graves of 1855 command the greatest global appeal for investment purposes.
